It's difficult to think of another property that had a better reboot than the Rocky series did with Creed, despite Hollywood's constant attempts to resurrect long-running franchises and intellectual properties (2015). Creed, directed by Ryan Coogler (Black Panther), is the first entry in the Rocky saga since Rocky Balboa (2006). It follows the son of legendary fan favorite Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) as he starts his own journey to become a professional boxer, with Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) passing the torch to the new hero before everyone knows the name Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan). With the similarly superb Creed II (2018), in which Adonis faced the murderer, the Academy Award-nominated movie easily justified a sequel. In Creed III (2023), Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther) will not only reprise his now-iconic role but also make his directorial debut as the latest member of the franchise's creative team. Here, Adonis has transformed into a responsible adult from a lost young man, pursuing his professional boxing career while still being a good husband to his wife and father to his daughter. Adonis will be forced into a fight for his life when a ghost from his past reappears after years of being absent. As he has appeared in every one of Ryan Coogler's feature films, including Fruitvale Station (2013) and Black Panther (2018), and since he will be taking over as director for Creed III for the first time, Michael B. Jordan has become the namesake of the soon-to-be trilogy. Jordan has acted in movies including A Journal for Jordan (2021), Without Remorse (2021), Just Mercy (2019), and Chronicle in addition to his work with Coogler and the Creed movies (2012). Jordan discussed how the montage segment was the hardest to film in an interview with Collider. Here'sWith no family to look up to, Adonis suffered in his early years, entering and exiting juvenile facilities. He had no idea that Adonis, whose mother had an affair with the late boxer, was Apollo's child at the time. Despite this, Mary Anne Creed, the widow of Apollo (Phylicia Rashad), learned of Adonis and offered to adopt the young boy. With the knowledge of his father's legacy and line of work weighing on him, Adonis quits his comfortable white-collar career and goes in search of Apollo's former foe and close friend Rocky Balboa. Now, Rocky became the father that Adonis had never known, which led to his exclusion from Apollo's family. At the start of Creed III, Adonis' boxing career is still going strong. He is a proud father to Amara (Mila Davis-Kent) and runs a successful boxing business, but he eventually decides to retire in order to cap off his successful career. A fresh set of issues for the Creed family begins when our hero notices an old acquaintance leaning on the hood of his car. This is the point at which our hero's past finally catches up to him.
